What is the point of buying Steam Wallet code from e-club store?
This may not relevant to most people here since e-club store[www.eclubstore.com] only operates in South-East Asia.

Anyway, I just got a notification[i.imgur.com] from Steam about availability of Steam Wallet code in my region. Initially, I'm quite happy with the news, since this type of payment (virtual currency, recharge code, cash card) is generally a bit cheaper than credit card or cash. For example, depend on where you buy, you may pay around $9.70-$9.90 for a card value $10. At worst, you would have to pay same amount as card's value.

However, with Steam Wallet code, they charge 8% more than real card value. So, you will have to pay $10.80 for a $10 Steam Wallet code.

I don't see the point of this 8% markup. Who in their right mind would pay more for less?

I'm guessing it's so that Steam doesn't have your credit card details on file, or if you just don''t have one

Ask your local vendor as to why

Even if you paid directly to Valve, you are paying actual legal tender for a non-remunerable subscription...
