Let me use the 'back' button again!

This seems like an odd bug. I don't have this issue and the people I asked about it, about half has no issue either while the other half runs into the back button not working or it going to the wrong pages (as in main pages, mostly).

I had an issue the other day where the back button made the page flash and that was it. No change in page. After several tries, it went back to the Library page instead of the previous page.

I fixed it by restarting the client and it hasn't done it again... at least so far. Still waiting to see if it repeats the issue.

Same here. The back button build into my mouse doesn't work correctly with the new UI. It either jumps a few entries back or doesn't do anything.

Did it with both the mouse and the back button on the client when I had the issue.

Try restarting the client if you have the issue. Worked for me so far.

Having the same issue, totally broken, sometimes it goes straight to my Steam library instead of backwards.

Didn't help in my case. Now it doesn't even go back to library but to a blank screen.

I don't know if its the same issue yall are having but it doesn't go back to the correct thing. In this discussion panel, if I hit backwards to get out of this specific thread and to the listing of all threads, it instead transfers me to my library tab which I was not in recently and want nothing to do with. hitting backwards a second time returns me to the steam community discussions tab, which I wanted.

You can use the middle mouse-button on a web link to open a web browser. And then browse from there. This works for most people.

That's part of the issue.
Sometimes pages are skipped over;
sometimes they come up in the wrong order;
sometimes the thing panics, craps itself, forgets its entire history and dumps you back at your starting page (which is usually configured to be the library);
and sometimes it mysteriously ends up opening a random page the user hadn't even visited before in their active session.

This thing is so fundamentally broken that along with all the other cruft worth of unfixed bugs and incomplete features in the new client, basically the only way to get Steam back into a usable state at the moment is to either force-install an old version and configure the bootstrapper to force-ignore updates; or to use the -vgui launch parameter (for however long that will continue working...)

this bug has been widely reported ever since the start of the beta and has just been ignored.
i also have an issue where, when i open up the main steam window it's always an empty black page and i have to click on the library once before it will function at all on any tab.
the screenshot manager loads up very slow and often gives an error.
and a few more smaller issues too. they left beta too early imo.

Same issue. Totally broken. Maybe this company should test things more thoroughly before forcing it out the door. No excuse for this product not to work...yet it doesn't work.
