I would be surprised if the new hardware that has been released will work on Windows 7/8.1. Stuff like RTX cards and new drivers. Also, aren't Windows 7 and 8.1 Directx11 only? Even if you use some open-source version how long is support going to last on that.

Oh no, a nearly 15 year old OS that did not have security updates for 3 years and is more and more incompatible with modern hardware and games will no longer be supported for the under 1% on Steam still using it.

Oh no, they actually make operating systems that require replacement, even though the company's income comes from Azure and advertisement integrated in the OS and their search engine (bing)...

age shouldn't matter. The fact is that they make stuff that is broken by design (apparently) so that they can scoop up more money.
Not everything (update) is progress. This is imo regression. Never mind its also harmful to the world, not just due to electronic waste, but also due to the lack of competition on chip making, processors and other parts (sys requirements).

Like.. they could have easily, with the billions they have, develop an OS that can be used forever.
(and by that I mean life long, and by that I mean at the very least 80 years)
that would work on every hardware to come, etc.
