Steam Tops 75 Million Users! Europe Leads!
Realy nice news!

In just the past three months, Steam's user base has increased by 15 percent, bringing it up to 75 million users, Valve announced today.

That's an increase of 10 million users since October, when Valve announced it had surpassed 65 million users. Since that time, the service has seen two major sales -- one in November, and a much bigger one in December. At one point during the latter sale, Steam's peak concurrent user count topped 7.6 million.

Even graph shows North America leads with 41% share of market, it seems Eastern and Western Europe is european 43% percent share.

What do you think? When will Steam get 100 milions of users? Is steam machine only future for PC gaming or Microsoft preparing any kind of revange? And do you know which countries are in Eastern or western european part of graph? :)

First of all these was like these all ready on the winter sale (and is assume to be the main reason for the lagging by the end of the sale [Before the DDoS])
And i think these is really nice really cool to be like these to know you are one in a big group

Even so i do not think Microsoft will do any revenge its not like they have why to do it PC will need to go far to really really heart PS or Xbox. Even more Micrsoft also sale Windows... and as BPM dose not work on XP i am sure some moved for that to 7 or higher what mean more sales for Microsoft XD

It's not that simple. Where do you fit Czech Republic, Hungary and the Baltic States?

So Do you believe in future PC without Windows? I´m little bit sceptical with it. Windows still provide enviroment not only with games, but even with all that graphic or video editor on high level.

Please note that users does not mean "people who still spend money on this crap." I am a user only because previously back when steam was good (aka pre early access greenlit crap flooding steam) I would spend money and now a lot of games need steam to operate. If I had it any other way I would never use steam again because they have gone way down hill.

75 million people 'have steam' more than likely out of necessity for some games, they are not necissarily 'users' or 'consumers' of steam any more. Their figures are warped.

Well i do think that can happen... one day.. but even that will not kill out Microsoft... they will just move to something else they can do and have much more then just that by today (Skype, visual studio, Windows Mobile, ect) so i think its going to take a while before they leave the play field once and for all

That's too bad because I for one only use steam and no other platform unless absolutely necessary. In fact a non-steam game would have to reach god tier of amazing for me to even consider putting money in to it.

Are they really "customers" though. How many people have 2, 3 or 4 accounts that are included in that total? There's bounds to be LOTS of TF2 accounts created for idling years ago that skews the figures! Add into that accounts created for the xmas card drops!
