So over all you can use that, but you cant use the same controls (like W on one and W on the second)
that is at least as much as i know...
sadly i do not really know of any software like that, but i will look if i can find one.. (even that i do think using controllers may be more comfortable for these cases)

Anyways apparently AutoHotkey has some driver made by someone you can download so it shows up as 2 different keyboards for macros however it doesn't have Mouse support I believe but it does prove this isn't just a 1 off miracle. I think XOutput MIGHT be able to distinguish between 2 keyboards however it has no mouse support.
As for other games that do this I've found literally none beyond the Serious Sam HD remakes and Serious Sam 3 although I lost interest in this topic after the people I played splitscreen with got their own computers.
