My wife, for example, enjoys playing Call of Duty as well as Bejeweled and Five Nights at Freddy's.
But if you want female protagonists, Journal, Long Live The Queen, the entire Tale of Tales oeuvre, Dangerous High School Girls In Trouble!, or Gone Home.
https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/free-games/on-the-house
Origin is still offering Bejeweled 3 for free.
Its about what games you like, What genre, setting etc...
If you have the guts, you can try playing The witch's House ( Rpg maker super horror game), my sis played and finished it, i also did and its a very beautiful game but probably one of the scariest games i played, and i played a lot of horror games.
If you'd like i can show you where to get it , its not on steam but its Free to get ( youtubers like pewdiepie and whatever played it a lot )
Considering the games you named maybe you want to look for puzzle and survival games? Fez and Thomas was alone are platform and puzzle games. I didn't play Terraria but you can try it too.
