hopefully valve gets sued
title says it all, steam removes games and doesn't refund. and now recently has changed wording to say we don't own anything yet not long ago gabe himself implemented that devs had to specifically state we own what we buy. so which is it? it's sad to see steam continuously fall so low.

Sued by whom?

Removed what games from your library without a refund?

:nkCool:
Another day, another thread spouting made up nonsense.

Carry on folks, just an award farm.
Any of those removed adult games were not removed from the libraries of people who bought them beforehand.
No one lost their games lol. People lied and said they did, yet you see them playing them, too funny that.

Nothing has changed since the 1960's, You have never owned the Software, only a licence to use said software. Before digital, you purchased and owned the media that contained the software, but it was still just a licence to use said software.
I've had at least one game removed since Collective Reeee were selected to be useful idiots for the government.

No games are removed from accounts after purchase.

It says a lot, but not all.

The only way that this could happen would be because a certain game was proven to be illegal with the current terms and laws. It would be an incredibly stunning feat to manage to do that. Furthermore if it was indeed the case Steam would be obligated to refund anybody who spent money on it.

However, it is way more than likely that:
1) The game wasn't "removed" but "delisted", meaning that you retain the right to download and use the game as you would but all the extras like the forum linked to said game and even the store page would either be removed or inaccessible. I've had numerous games go down this route during my "career" on Steam and this is not even rare. One game in particular I can think of was delisted because the publishers were not able to pay licence fees because the IP holder did not want to renew the contract/agreement. That kind of BS happen all the time.
2) You acquired the game thru grey sites and the reason why it disappeared was actually because the key you got was removed either by Steam or the game publisher because it was illegal to begin with. In such a case you are fortunately not charged legally for this but you do lose access to your game and presumably the money you spent on the purchase in the first place.

at this point people should know the situation. and it is just purely scummy to remove games but not refund. it's not as if steam isn't keeping the money, if the games are so horrible they can't be listed then steam shouldn't be taking profits from them. and that is before the flip flopping on the policy of whether we own what we buy, it was stated we did then as soon as steam starts removing games people paid for now it is we don't all the sudden.

Maybe it was just delisted. It wasn't a very good game so I didn't check.
Didn't they remove No Mercy? Were those customers given a refund for that? My game could've been removed for similar reasons.

The policy has always been licenses, not ownership. The only thing that changed was California law forcing sites like Steam to be more transparent about it. So now they state it during checkout.

Delisted games do not remove the games from those who already paid for them. I have several in my library from over the years.

And I find it humorous that you can't name the game they supposedly stole from you.

Well please understand that there is a whole world of difference between accusing Steam of removing game and having games being delisted for whatever reason...
Oh... Stealth delete. Nice. It's more telling than the title. Quotes says it all, apparently.
