Bad display of things begins on width > 1555px. Look at the grid and other things hiding behind it.
If they centered the game list it'd break the left column verticality. and expanding the column to the right would squeeze the content too much. And you don't want it from a usability standpoint.
yes, any half competent team or half decent company does that, but valve does things differently.
Also a visual aid on what you're referring at would help others understand you.
