I am having performance issues with the latest nvidia driver. Whats the most stable driver for an RTX 3060? Some people recommended me the 566.36 driver.

That's correct. RTX 30, 40 and 50 series users began experiencing stuttering and instability after that driver.

even though I went back to my previous driver, 572.16, and the stuttering and fps drops are still there. Resident Evil 4 looks like a powerpoint at this point.

The issue has been present for months at this point, go back to 566.36 and never update it until they explicitly confirm they fixed it
They won't fix it for older graphics cards. Been asking for fixes for certain games with my card for years. They want to force you to buy a newer one, so they make them broken on purpose, the same way smart phone companies slow down their older model phones on purpose. And yes, it has been proven and actually had lawsuits against this issue before too.

Microsoft kinda doing the same thing. Look at their latest update this month. IT makes BSOD and people who have bitlocker installed causes it. There breaking windows 10 os on purpose.

My problems with Windows started immediately after the update that checked if my computer is Windows 11 compatible. It is not compatible. And i had to switch to Linux to avoid their BS.
3060 12 gb here.

I am on the 572.70. But no issues

I still get a chuckle at the fact that it doesn't like my backup machine, with its ryzen 9 3800x/ GTX 1660/ 16 GB, that runs win 10 perfectly fine, but it does like some cheap mini PC that can barely run 11.
Quite frankly, I may still update my current machine to 11 when 10 is phased out, but have 11 shelved 99% of the time while I run linux instead (just like what I've done to 10 right now). Previous machine will keep 10, but for legacy purposes as it would run linux for anything warranting up-to-date software, like using the internet.
I recommend using DDU in windows safemode only the recommended option to clear video drivers, and anything left behind by the driver.

I can recommend using 566.36 as it last known stable driver before repeat issue after issue in later updates that issue suddenly appears, not everyone same, but issue appears at some point for unknow issues. Now normally don't need to update video drives as often unless trying to play new game that release that need later said version of driver to fix any issues.

Now can try doing DDU then install the latest see if issue gone, if none, can use older driver that you know that works.

I would for good measure ensure that is done in safe mode with either the network adapter disabled prior or network cable unplugged, run ddu, reboot into windows, install drivers then restore network.
