What happens to "Unavailable item" if you had already purchased it ??
So I recently noticed that one of the games in my wishlist is not available in Steam anymore. That entry in my wishlist just says "(unavailable item)", and the description says "This item is not longer available".

I don't remember which game this was, but I was wondering, if I had already purchased it, and it later became unavailable, what would happen ??
Would I not be able to play it anymore ??
Would it go away from the library of people who have already purchased it ??
If yes, would you atleast get some amount of money back from Steam as a refund ??

99% of the time if you own a game that is removed from sale you can continue to download and play that game. Assuming, that is, that the game in question isn't dependent on servers or the like that could have been shutdown. In rare occasions, the game might be removed entirely from your Steam account -- but that is the exception, not the norm. Even dead MMOs tend to remain attached to your account if you purchased them.

It would remain downloadable, but if the game was an online game it wouldn't be playable. You'd get no refunds, its the same as if a game is shut down and you owned the disc of it.

If you get a game that's on your wishlist, the wishlist entry is removed automatically.

And I don't think you can add at items that you already own... at least not via the store frontend (I just checked for a game that I just added, and it doesn't show the "Add to wishlist" anymore).

Thus, all "unavailable items" are likely games that you DON'T have.

Right click the words "Unavailable Item" and copy the address.

Google Steamdb appID# from the URL you copied.

The only game I heard about getting delisted/removed recently was Evil Dead: The Game. They plan on keeping their servers online so, you should still be able to play it.

When a game gets removed/delisted it will remain in your library if you bought it.

Like Deadpool, Saw (the game) and others.

Alternatively, go to https://steamdb.info/ and just paste the entire URL you copied into the search bar.

That should take you to the relevant page directly.

Hey thanks man. PS : I copied the link and checked in SteamDB, turned out to be Death Stranding. I that and the Director's cut of the game were initially different entries !

A good example of this is the game THE CREW. Technically still own it personally, but since it is no longer available online or even offline, you cannot play it even if you own it.
