Danger Second Account Cloning Attempt Today,
Second Account Cloning Attempt Today, April 21st, I received a message on my phone at 4:00 AM with a new password. I was horrified to find my phone number had been deleted from my account, but my email address remained. I started adding my phone number, deactivated all connected devices, and reset my security. No one could have accessed my account and changed the password except from the Steam organization. For security reasons, I blocked my credit card from my bank. I am reporting this act of internal sabotage. Second Account Cloning Attempt

Stop spamming that cloning nonsense everywhere.

OP's first thread about that issue: My Premium subscription has been removed

Secure your account now!

Take the following steps to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a clean computer.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key (there should be no key). https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

No one at Valve is trying to sabotage, hack, steal, or otherwise take your account. Why would they need to?! Their accounts are infinitely more valuable a target than that of a mere customer. And if they wanted to do something to your account, simply disabling it and banning it are far easier and quicker to do with no way for you reverse either or prevent them happening.

I can't explain why someone without access changed my password and phone number in the middle of the night.

Because you gave them access, they phished the login information to your account. It really is that simple.

Because you were phished. At some point, you gave away the info. Check the Support articles on known scams. See if any are familiar to you. Do the steps in post 2.

They would need to know your steam log in username, ONLY YOU KNOW THIS.... Not even steam tier 1 or 2 support techs can access or see this info. It can not be hacked from steam servers. Tier 3 support techs (3 of them) have to "Break the Glass" with special access codes to see this info.

The only way to get your log in username, is from you the user, or phished from your devices you logged into steam or fake steam websites. Plus they stole that 30 second 2fa security token. That has to be phished from your pc or other logged in device.

Their post history shows it was some CS2 art voting nonsense. I've seen that posted here before.

Either way, if theyre still having issues, they need to follow the account recovery steps that have been outlined to them in their other threads

Please describe the issue in detail. The Steam Support will be very willing to provide relevant assistance for your facing issue.

I've locked the thread as appealing via those methods is your best route forward.
