Avast issue with Steam
Hello,

The latest Avast Free build screwed my Steam. Now it have this new crapy AI and every game pictures load slow or not load at all. Gamelists on store, curators, whislist, library game background.
I Excluded Steam\htmlcache and it somewhat solved it.

Anyone else have similar issues with recent Avast?

Sounds like a netfilter or webfilter is in place from what you describe. I don't have Avast but any AV can get in the way sometimes. You'll need to find a way to exclude ... or whatever... in Avast to allow Steam to function unimpeded.

Yeah I excluded htmcache. Thanks
Now for test I removed exclusion.
Contact Avast, so they fix it.
Avoid Avast products, including CCleaner and others. They are data thefts and spy on users. They also sold user data in the three-digit million range.

It well protecting me for 10+ years for "free". Nowdays it is very hard to avoid data collect.
On PC it work good. On mobile both Avast and CCleaner are full of adds. :P

As would Windows Defender have done.
You don't need third party anti-virus any longer since W7. The in-built security suit is just as good.
Actually it's even better because those anti-viruses have repeatedly been found to be the actual security issue. They even acknowledge their uselessness by nagging you to subscribe into various other services like VPNs or offering browser plug-ins and what-not. Stuff they normally would label Potential Unwanted Programs. And they indeed have been found guilty to sell the browser and monitored traffic data gathered.
I use emsisoft av and it's great. is malware bytes and Bitdefender put together. they have a free version if you don't wanna purchase the full version.
