Why is a game marked as private in my library showing up on my Discord?

I marked Spirit City private mostly because I don't want it to affect my end of year wrap up.

But I just noticed that Discord is reporting me playing it?

Why is a game marked private being broadcast as me playing it on a different program?

Discord is an outside program that is not effected by steam settings.

Marking a game as private in steam only changes it's visibility in steam.

Discord is reading the games exe as running so is displaying it in Discord. You will have to change the privacy settings in discord if you don't want it displaying the game in your discord status.

If you talking about the Discord notice thing above your name
Then that is Discord detecting the game on your PC, it has nothing to do with Steam it self, it will do that even if you got it off Steam
You can disable it by going in Discord to Settings -> Registered Games -> Mark it off in Toggle detection
You can also go to Activity Privecy if you prefer Discord not show your played games
