Clown award should be removed

now this might be a hot take but hear me out, the clown award should be removed or changed to a different icon since this got introduced i see many people ruin and create more bait and useless posts on game forums just to farm this icon and points you get from people;e giving your ♥♥♥♥/bait post this award. this not only creates bloat on the forums but it detrimental to the game forums its being posted on as these bait post are usually at the top of the forums, i feel removing or changing this award to a different icon not a clown would be a good option as i cant be the only one tired of seeing 3-4 clown award farm post on each game forum on the first or second page, it was funny when awards first got introduced now its just cringe seeing these posts.

Why? All awards serve a purpose. Personally, I don't mind awards.

The problem is that there is a point value associated with these awards and so people are more inclined to farming awards because they can then hoard Steam points or use them to purchase items from the point shop. The clown/jester is immediately associated with people who act foolishly and it's easy to be dumb for awards rather than contributing positively for awards.

People seem to react more to negativity than they do positivity and so the Steam community has naturally created a culture where trolls are rampant and existing just in hopes of being rewarded for it now that they know that they can. I think trolls have always existed but now they can get paid for it and so they're incentivized.

I imagine Valve's intentions were kind of noble, giving people alternatives to obtaining Steam points if they can't buy video games, but it's definitely resulted in people, whether desperate or not, trying to get Steam points through trolling or begging.

I seldom give awards except directly to a profile, so perhaps it can be a self-resolving issue if the community just stops giving awards on troll posts and silly game reviews.

The real issue here is that clown provides steam points for the recipient.
No points = no farming.

Points are only half of it. People are still willing to farm the awards just for the awards themselves.
