I'm scared to buy new games because all the games I buy end up being given away by Epic Games or Amazon Gaming hahaha

Yet you will hear people complain about how bad the Epic Games Store is here.

It is a trade-off. How much do you trust the other stores compared to Steam?

I heard the rumors going around about GOG and their issues. A good percentage of people don't trust the Epic Games Store. There is always complaints about EA.

I understand your frustration but at some point in time you are going to have to decide what is best for you. Paying for games on Steam where you know you are getting what is considered to be arguably the best store out there or trying something else.

I wish you luck seeing as nothing is certain but death and taxes.

Or... The reality is that no one really cares where you get your games from. I have my own preference. You should have your own. Just make well informed decisions and remember to own those decisions regardless of their outcome.

Don’t worry about it. What are the chances the game you buy will be on Epic free games? Epic reuse games that went free after sometimes. While they rarely do this, There are hundred thousands of games on Steam as of today. You think that 1 or 2 games per week from Epic will happen to be the one you bought?

If you buy a game, you think the price is worth it. If it comes up as a panhandler prize in the future, it doesnt change the fact that you thought it was worth buying.

Epic giveaways lack Steam integration, and quite often Amazon giveaways don't redeem on Steam either.

Bit of a weird argument, I'm with Amsterdam above on this one... if you purchased a game and thought it was worth it.. then who cares what happens next? It doesn't just invalidate your game, or negate all the fun you already had with it.

Not to mention... stuff eventually drops in price anyway.

But there might be a solution here... you can always buy old games instead of new. I'm not joking btw, there are plenty of older games that are actually pretty good all things considered and because of their age.. they'll also be pretty affordable, especially during a sales period like this.

Heck... I wasn't planning on getting any games this year but I got persuaded and nabbed a game anyway (with all DLC) where the base game was a meagre 5 bucks now. Best retro purchase ever!

When it is this time of year I usually wait to the last minute to buy a game because you never know what Epic is going to give away. So my advice is to wait to the last minute and see if your game is given away and then buy it if it is not. But I use other sellers beside steam for games as they usually have better prices.
