Can you be more dramatic? There are backdoors in all the operating systems and what not. If they want you got you get got. Don't worry about inconsequential garbage like wow China got my info now that I downloaded EGS... worry more about the tyrant at home than the ones abroad at any rate.
Thanks for the points, anyhow. I wonder why people just want to complain all the time, really. I know I should be used to it as it is the internet and all but like... Can't people just be rational for once? I even offered an alternative if you don't like the prices.
so mercenary
tbh you are part of the problem and the only person not living in reality is you.
Imagine having to rationalize Steams insane pricing scheme to yourself to justify overpaying for that game.
This game would be $5-$7 on a previous steam sale.
An example of your mindset is a manufacturer charges $40,000 for a $30,000 car. You just shrug and say meh, it's only another $150 a month and is just the reality of the situation.
No, it's not. The only reason this car sells for $40,000 is because tools like you pay for it. This goes for all of the other steam Apologists out there talking down to people "not living in reality."
The reality is I don't have to pay for overpriced crap and neither do you.
Sorry, you fall squarely in the part of the problem category.
AKA - I may bang her once in while when I'm bored but the love isn't there anymore and we are headed towards a divorce.
BRING BACK THE LOVE STEAM!
Not sure if you're trying to gaslight me or something but a -50% to -85% sale IS good. And I did say to check isthereanydeal if some of the games in sales don't please you. But sure, I'm part of the problem for, and I emphasise, SAVING MONEY. lol
Btw, you say "this game would be 5$":

The store's lowest price for this game is around a dollar less than it is currently on steam. This tells me that you don't know what you're talking about. I have sources... You should stop trying to gaslight me and see that maybe this sale is not so bad.
Just like indie bundles swallowed all the deep end sales, or Flash deals cemented the '75% off price is base price' (making devs stop deep discounting games), 'Epic free games' are bound to have an impact on sales long term. Mind schemes like the epic free games are just short term mechanics to build userbase (They did nothing GOG, Uplay or Origin didn't). But Epic is making it for a WAY LONGER timeframe.
Eventually it'll cement more and more the idea of not buying games because 'I'll get it for free on Epic later', hurting developers pocket in the long run.
Steam is not your girlfriend.
We all know it's just because people couldn't abuse the free card drop anymore
And if the game devs/publishers decide to set that price, it can be. Though *they* decide that, not Valve/Steam.
People decide for themselves when something is "overpriced" or not.
I was waiting for the Holiday Sale so that my game purchase would also get me cards. I now find out that there are no cards and waiting for the BIG STEAM WINTER sale just gives me the gift of paying $14.31 extra for nothing.
Thanks Steam ;)
PS I know sale prices are set by the vendor, but it is Steam that decided against cards.
Consumers who care about their wallets check price histories. Often enough the smaller themed genre sales or publisher sales have the best discounts.
It really should not be a surprise that companies take the purchasing habits of their clients into account when deciding pricing strategies.
No thank you!
