Should I just rebuy the game
I was gifted a giftcard, bought through G2A to match my region (EUR), the issue is that I've heard about chargebacks from illegitimately acquired (by the seller) keys being done.
I bought the Sims 2 Legacy Edition, but I'm not sure how long that game will be for sale. Is there a possibility the game could just magically vanish from my collections? If so, would you say I should just rebuy the game now, in case something happens and the Sims 2 isn't for sale any longer?

The seller seemed to have an "Excellent seller" marking if that says anything.

You knew what ypu were getting into when buying from criminals. As a lot of developers said 'g2a is worse than piracy, it hurts developers directly'
Curious as to why the filter hasn't censored the store name. I'm sure it used to.

At any rate, if you already have the game on your Steam account, you won't be able to rebuy it on the same account.

The Sims 2 was just released - what do you mean it won't be for sale any longer?
Yup, you were bang to rights. That site is known for being dodgy as all hell as they deal in stolen goods, and cards.

So you always run the risk of getting a game revoked or other action. Because the games are often either directlt stolen keys or bought with dodgy credit cards.

And you're left out of pocket with nothing you can do. The company will not do anything about it.

Simeple solution - DO NOT USE THEM.

If you are after cheaper games, then use official sources. If you go to sites like cheapassgamer or isthereanydeal they will tell you of offically good sites to buy from.

So keep an eye on them. Personally I use sites like Humble Bundle, Fanatical, Green Man Gaming as they often have good deals on.

But if you can't find what you want on sale, WAIT. NEVER be tempted by dodgy sites.
I've only used those website for delisted games. I have not yet received any chargeback so far.

I'm wondering that too. It certainly censored it before.

There's an apostrophe at the beginning, that probably messed up the censoring.

I've used Fanatical, Humble Bundle, Green Man Gaming and a few other sites, all listed on Isthereanydeal. And never had any issues. Cause that site lists legitimate stores instead of the thieves' den that OP used.

If you buy stolen stuff, you've got only yourself to blame when you face the consequences.

Legit question. I won't mention it in case I get in troubles but I thought these 3 letters of a shop we should not name were censored by steam? They're still not trustable.

P.S.: Woops, apparently the question was already asked. This is definitely strange. But yes, as a user of Isthereanydeal, this is a good place to go look for games on sale.
Now, let me be completely clear - I am NOT encouraging or condoning the use of that website. In fact I would advise you to tell whoever bought you that gift card to never buy from there again.

But that said - if you mean to say you got a digital wallet gift card for Steam off of that site, I don't know that the funds themselves can actually be revoked. Now yes, if you bought a key direct off that site, there is a good and high possibility that the key will be revoked. But a wallet card code? I don't really think so. In most cases, you cannot reverse a charge made for gift cards. There's a reason that online and phone call scammers ask for gift cards - and besides being very difficult to trace, they are also almost impossible to refund.

Your question is akin 'If I don't get caught, is it still ok to deal with stolen goods'

If you want to play it, you should buy it.

I'm not asking a question. How in the world did you come to the conclusion that I was? I was answering OP's post. He asked if there is a possibility he could lose the game. And I'm giving him the benefit of a doubt because he didn't say that he was the one who bought from that site. He said that someone gifted him a gift card. Not a key for a specific game (try re-reading the OP again). So if we assume he is telling the truth, maybe the person who gave him the wallet card didn't know that it's a shady site. Maybe OP didn't know either until after he already redeemed the card and spent the money. It's not uncommon for people not to know this, especially if they don't do a lot of research, and they only find out later the hard way.

Yep, I had asked after he redeemed it how he got hold of a gift card from a different region. That's how I found out it was bought through that website.

Well as I said in my first post - gift card funds are not likely to be revoked because gift cards are almost impossible to refund or chargeback. You're probably safe, but as I said in the future tell your friend you don't want anything bought from there. And if he wants to give you money on Steam, he can just send you a digital gift card. Digital gift cards gifted through steam automatically convert to the recipient's currency anyway so there's no need to worry about having the correct region. And unlike gifting games directly, there's also no restrictions between regions with large price differences. Here's a link in case you want it:
