Live services EOS should offer an offline version as consumers are being ripped off
Hi everyone, in the wake of the recent EOS of trash mobile "gotcha" games Atelier Resleriana:

https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/1ib558s/end_of_service_for_atelier_resleriana_forgotten/

The game is going EOS without offering an offline version and many player who had invested their time and money on resources will lose everything. This happens all the time, while I personally only played that game on day 1, it is scummy and anti-consumer to see these companies get away with just pulling the plug after siphoning a lot of money off a loyal fanbase and they have nothing to keep in return. Just having the game with the story line quest in offline mode with the ability to get all the playable characters and skins should suffice and shouldn't be that hard to do imo.

If anyone has any connection with politicians, games urinalist or youtubers like assmongold or any other grifter with a big following to remind people that you don't own ♥♥♥♥ and to give visibility to this continuing problem maybe a change can happen. It would be nice if people get reminded every time a live service cash grab gets shut down.

Steam should not be allowing this to happen on their platform either.

Ono, people getting mad about live service games getting shut down despite clicking the "I accept" on the TOS for said live service games.

Oops, maybe people should instead learn to read the TOS...
Online games go down, eventually. If you don't want to accept that, don't buy them in the first place.
Is anyone forced to do the following for a live service game?

1) Go to the store page.

2) Added the game to your cart.

3) Viewed your cart.

4) Continued to payment.

5) Entered the security code if you are using a card.

6) Ticked the Steam Subscriber Agreement box.

7) Clicked confirm.

No. All those steps are voluntary not mandatory.

Im guessing you did not read the Terms of Services when you signed up for the game? I imagine your one of those individuals that clicks accept and not read it, but what is funny they can put money charges and other things in those terms, so it is always good to read them if you can.

Is that even possible?
EA games: Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further.

Yet we still get ocasional whining like "At this point when I see "early access" I move along and don't look back"
If a company is going out of business, who's paying for the games to be rewritten to be singleplayer?

How exactly? The terms of service from day one, have always stated the game could shut down. Plus, there's prior history of all the other similar Atelier games being shut down. And if that wasn't enough, for anyone who made a recent in-game purchase, refunds are being issued -- as they always have when similar games have shutdown.

But then, the fact you called it "trash" pretty much tells me you never even played the game and are just listening to some clout chasing grifter who wants you to be mad at the latest "drama", that, for anyone who has every played a game like this, knows is common and nothing drama worthy at all.

Dunno I mean this AI plugin I got for Chrome seemingly filled all that in, and also started playing Fortnite! I think it might be playing Marvel Rivals too! These new malware are just doing nasty stuff let me tell you.
I like how OP is throwing a bunch of buzzwords in their rant and includes streamers.

I fins it curious how pekmople are being ripped off when said people know beforehand what they're buying.
Unless they had false expectations they created themselves, of course.

How about you start, buckaroo, by contacting your politicians instead of begging other people to do the work for you. And ragebait YouTubers and Streamers aren't the flex you think it is.

Personally, I would love to see more game preservation options, and things like MMOs have single player offline versions. But somebody still has to foot the bill for that kind of stuff. And I have a feeling it isn't going to be you.

The silly thing is, he's whining about an F2P game with a gacha model from a franchise known for all its previous similar F2P gacha models games to be shut down with a year or three of launch. The only surprising thing about this particular announcement is that it is only the "Global" version that's shutting down. The original Japanese version will continue service.

It's the best defence we have against this practice. Hopefully it can gather enough signatures to proceed through the next stage.
yeah kinda a shame it gets poof just like that. never heard of that gacha game.
Just don't ever play gacha, it is cancer anyway
