Yeah I deliberately didn't tackle that point because I wanted to see if they'd try that one next. It commonly is a variation of "we don't care - America great". So I was preempting it.
And indeed, even if America didn't get as much imported what they fail to realise is how much is networked together and hangs on each other. Tghis again shows the simplistic thinking and ignorance of Trump supporters. It's weird how they so fervently support something they know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about.
But yeah, most countries have more than their fair share of imports these days. It's a great thing, but if you get people like trumpy who are ignorant themselves and think they can just go it on their own, boy is he going to get a rude awakening.
It's like every time he attacks California. Great job - next time he threatens to not help them out if some disaster occurs, good luck getting your food cheaply. Because California grows an AWFUL lot of it.
He can't see further than the end of his nose.
Anyone remember when Suez Canal was blocked by the Evergreen? And it caused price increases and lack of items on the shelves? And only 10-12% of all global trade goes through that canal. And that was for 6 days... not even a full week...
Now times that by 50 or more for how much things will go up, if tariffs are really applied.
