The best cozy game?
Hi, I'm looking to have cozy game to chill with and there are lots to choose from.

Would be great to get some recommendations, but here's what I know so far:

I don't like Stardew Valley as it's too grindy for what I want.
I like progression, so buildings and upgrades would be good.
I like decent graphics, not voxels.
I'd like it to be long-term, not a 10hr campaign and that's it.

So people, any thoughts?

I think the confusion I have here is "How is it grindy?" as it is one of the more lax farming games out there. It's long terms, it has upgrades. I suppose the "end game" is where you grind a bit but it's pretty relaxed and automatic for the most.

The reason I bring it up is also because I don't know MANY games that would be better in term of what OP wants. The Portia series were good suggestions, though. Is OP looking for farming sims only, though? It's hard to think of very long games.

After doing a search, some people mentioned Coral Island. I'd say Planet Crafter for cozy. Also, Spiritfarer (since I think it works). Someone also mentioned Palia. Tiny Glade but I am not sure if it applies. I just saw the title in a list of cozy games.

You can choose to play Creative Mode and just build the world up and transform it, or choose Relaxed to follow the somewhat minimal story line, with very light survival elements. No permadeath unless you choose to play Hardcore, no enemy combatants, and it gets cozier when you unlock the stage where you start introducing animals and butterflies and fish.

It's very chill, very slow paced, tons of crafting and building, tons of exploration and finding secrets in the world, but you are all alone until you start adding critters.

I find it cozy, but no way to know if you will- cozy can mean a million different things to a million different people.

I don;t have it yet, but a friend who loves cozy games with relationship elements loves it, and her screenshots are really cute and cozy.

You can build your own base, and make it as elaborate as you want. There is a limit on how big you can make it, but ive seen people build bases floating in the air, in a volcano, even underwater. You can get really creative in this game building a base. This game is very long term. Many things keep getting added to it. There is sandbox mode too if you do not want to hunt for resources all the time. It is called Creative Mode.

Here is a example of a base someone made:

Last big update added the ability to fish and added a boat to the game.
