What will happen with my Ubisoft games after it goes bankrupt?
I am pretty sure its last, or second to last year Ubisoft still exists as a company. I am wondering what will happen with all my games I have from them after it goes down, since it requires secondary launcher for playing them. Should I start looking to "acquiring" backup installs or Steam will make games I bought still available after inevitable Ubisoft demise?

Ubisoft will get bought out by someone else.

Your games will still work with the launcher being offline like steam i would assume as long as you have the client installed with it being online or offline. Good question though.

Most likely the games will become unavailable if they need UPlay except if Ubisoft is going to be buy out or they decide to take the extra steps to break off there launcher or make an offline mode one
Regradless I do have to wonder where you get your ideas from
As at least at this last year Ubisoft actually did better then the 2 years before

And companies have options, you can down size first, and do other stuff to get revenue and lower costs before having to jump ship

When UPlay gets shut down, UPlay-games will no longer work.

However, if someone takes over Ubisoft, it might not be the smartest move to piss off every existing Ubisoft-customer...

Capitalism...

An already capitalistic and greedy company will get bought by an even moore capitalistic and greedy entity...

Why not a merger between N00bieSuck, ActiveShittard and Eleflonic Arse...

They will never go bankrupt despite what a few clickbait sites say. Even if they are bleeding money each day and losing overall value, they'll still sell for billions to rival companies and either be incorporated into them or ran under new ownership under the Ubisoft brand.

For a company of this size to go outright bankrupt, they'd have to be losing millions each day, have limited to no assets on their books, low income potential and have no means of paying back creditors. They aren't anywhere near this position and even if they had zero in the bank, they could still sell for $5bn+ to the likes of Tencent.

Nope. Data you giving is up to 31 march 2024. Count how many bad juju and flops Ubi had after that and you will see huge negative outcome. That why Tencent temporarily suspened buyout deal, since the value of Ubi will hit even deeeper rock bottom and acquiry will be cheaper.

Regardless, another company will swoop in and buy them just for the amount of IPs they have and user account data they hold.

the multiplayer features probably won't work any more (RIP Siege players) but if the game uses p2p connections or is single player it'll probably be fine

They aren't going to get a cheaper deal even if shares plummet to zero. The only value the company really has is in the existing IP's and user data as said above. Tencent put the buyout on ice to give Ubisoft an opportunity to clean up their books and put in place guarantees that the board will relinquish their positions even upon a minority buyout.

there will be a little update for every game, to run without the ubiconnect launcher in the future

Knowing Ubisoft, they will remove them from your library without offering a refund.

That is something a new owner could do to get rid of UPlay without pissing off customers. Those that got their games from Ubisoft directly might get moved to Steam instead, if Steam is willing.

However, that's still something that needs to be done by someone; there is no automatism.
