Games made since the 2000s are better choices, I think. Morrowind would probably be my top pick. There's an unofficial engine remake, and mods can help with other issues. Still, it would be nice to have a plug and play version that was graphically modernized -- 4k, HDR, etc. Seeing that alien fantasy world with modern graphics would be mind-blowing, I think.
For Amiga games, I'd probably go with Populous, Powermonger, or some other Bullfrog game.
F.E.A.R.
Half-Life Opposing Force
Ečstatica I & II.
Alone in the Dark.
(install the vehicle physics of NFS:Heat into the game too)
2= Hexen II, 1997
(Come on Activision....that game is a timeless legend)
3= Indiana Jones: The Fate of Atlantis, 1992
(it will be instant Game Of The Year for me)
Ecco 2: Tides of Time
Chrono Trigger
Hexen
California Games

Though...yeah..they'd more than just graphical updates. They'd need remaking from the ground up and I;d NEED flat out NEED VR support in them as well.
Wont happen but one can dream.
Actually there is a rumour that the Wild Arms series may get remakes.

As for xenoblade/xenogears, Nintendo officially owns it now, so it will now never come to pc unless nintendo is less tight ass about their IP's.

But you know how nintendo is, they sued palworld over a patent infringement for throwing a ball at monsters.
That is the issue with newer games, some of the companies are afraid to do new games. Just look what happened with starfield with bethesda, or concord. They want to make money, not lose it, so that is why so many remakes are being made because they are more safer. If you want newer games, stick to Indie games. They do alot of experimentation and new things.
While those were technically 'new' their execution was not, it just was the same formula with a new paint coat, also yes, i always my bet is with the indies.
Along with todays graphics it would bend pretty well - we have so many remakes now it almost feels like a scam.
