It's all boring woke crap that you can't even criticize because you get banned, no good stories and zero immersion, I haven't seen anything good to buy for months and I haven't even been interested when they give away games for $2. The most hyped games fall one after another like failures. Obviously they have accumulated a lot of money over the previous years, if this company was new it would have already gone bankrupt.

Touch grass. Not all new Steam games are bad. You are looking at the wrong places. Stop hyping on new games; you are likely to be disappointed.

Even if Valve launched Steam tomorrow, they wouldn't go out of business because you don't like the games they sell. Take a break from gaming. Go outside and enjoy some sunshine for a bit. Even a brief walk under a winter sun would be good. If you can't do that, read a book. Draw something, write something. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece. Just turn your screen off for a while.

IT is the state of the gaming industry right now. Triple A games either stay in the safe area, like remakes, or try new IP's that do not always pan out, like Bethesda did with Starfield. Triple A companies are scared also to try new things.

Indie games on the other hand, try new things, but not always sell good, or have good mechanics. Then big companies go after them. Look what nintendo did to Palworld over infringement on ball throwing mechanic. Due to this, palworld had to change this mechanic in their game.

This will make more indie studios more nervous about big companies going after them, squashing innovation on the indie scene. And that is why games right now are so bad.

Pro tip: opt ouf of things making one unhappy. I know for a fact that buying into hype makes one unhappy so simply ignore hype. Same goes for culture wars. "Woke" my ass, simply stop caring about games offering you a pronoun selection and you'll be happier in life.

That's how you'd skip "Battletech" though, one of the better turn-based games with mech customization. Pronoun selection is pointless anyway, because your character is addressed either as "you" or by the custom name you gave them anyway. You're never seeing the pronoun past the selection screen.
