Hacked on the 4th of March and 7th of March 2025
Dear Steam Staff,

I was hacked, but now I have made a new password.

My items in my inventory were sold 88 skins on the 4th of March 2025.

With the money they earned they bought 45 skins on the 7th of March 2025.

What should I do to secure my account?

With kind regards,

Han'Nya

Secure your account.

1. Scan for malware
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a trusted/clean device.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (the domain field should be blank)

Please note your items will not be returned.

what they mean is that it is more than likely that you were phished

it is the number one way that people are losing their accounts

whether it is through usinga third party trading site

the vote for my team

here is some free steam money

i accidentally reported you

and many other scams

the scammers trick someone into giving away their info

it is that or there could be some malware or virus on your pc

"Letting us all know." That's adorable. Most of us already knew.

Also, just to make sure the point is clear, you didn't get hacked. You gave away your Steam login information to some shady site/individual. Most likely some shady skins site.

This was an easily avoidable scam and you have only yourself to blame.
If you were hacked, it would of made national news as many people would also have been hacked. Most likely you were phished or installed something. I even recently read that there are now many viruses on Github for people installing mods and stuff from there sadly.

I mean even CNN reported about BIGFOOT before, so why is it not on national news?

Also, this is a User ONLY sub-forum. There are ZERO, NONE - Valve / Steam Employees, staff, support team members, Techs, or Moderators in the 2 steam related sub-forums.
Nobody was hacked.
