Is there a refund limit?
Guys, this week I bought a game but I didn't really like it. I'm afraid I'll get a warning for using the refund for the second time this week, does anyone know if there is a refund limit?

If you refund too much with in a short period, then you will get a warning in the refund that refunds are not meant to demo games and you should do more research on the game. If it continues, then they will revoke your ability to refund games.

No one know the amount or the time period before such a message is included with the refund and Valve has not stated it.

Two refunds in one week shouldn't be an issue though and you will always get a warning (or several) before anything serious happens.

I'm pretty sure that you won't get anything bad happening to you for two games in the same week. But make sure you don't push it too much further than that. Let the timer cool off before doing the same thing again.

Refunds are supposed to be a protection against software which end up not working for you at all for whatever reason. It is not, like Totoro said above, to be used simply to test drive products.

You could always read the ToS.

Looks like there's no limit - its 14 days or up to 48 hours of playtime - whichever comes first.

However I suspect they will start growing sus at your actions if you abuse the policy.
It's a question best left to asking Steam Directly through their support system - however that works.

An important part that is often overlooked:
ABUSE
Refunds are designed to remove the risk from purchasing titles on Steam—not as a way to get free games. If it appears to us that you are abusing refunds, we may stop offering them to you. We do not consider it abuse to request a refund on a title that was purchased just before a sale and then immediately rebuying that title for the sale price.

And example is in this article.

Yep - like I said.... push too hard - they grow sus. Better off asking Steam for clarification.

Frankly this is what demo's are for - can even watch youtube game walkthroughs or twitch.

People have plenty of resources to check things out before clicking "Buy"

Support won't clarify as Valve doesn't want people to know specifics and abuse the system.

Too many will read the policy and stop after they read what they want, skipping the bottom. Sadly.

Pretty sure they could indicate if you're suspect or not by warning you - but if they don't - then all I can offer is to be cautious about impulsive buying in the future.

Not from what I can recall. It is part of an automated system, like most the refunds are, so Support may not even have access to it. Support is a 3rd party, not directly to Valve, unfortunately, so they have limited information on how things work.

And I agree about impulsive buying. I know I try to limit my refunds extra, as I don't even want to get the warning.

There is, and it is not disclosed for obvious reasons. But it should not stop you from doing honest refunds.

I just adopt a mindset that refunds are not possible (even if they are) in any online game purchase I consider barring catastrophic failure or obvious things.

The hilarious part is I'm drowning in games thanks to humble - so its kind of a moot point.

Yes there is a limit,
Don't worry you will get about 3 warnings before you cross the line. Heed them.
Better still try to limit your impulse buying and research your purchase so you DON't have to refund.

yes if you refund too much they can block you from refunds

suggestion is to demo the games else where or just watch videos of them and don't waste your time making steam purchases until you know its a game you really want, steam acts like you can refund stuff, but its all just a marketing lie, steam isn't a retailer they won't take anything back, and once you give them your money its stuck on this platform, so always think twice about it.

There's no hard limit. If there was, people would abuse it by constantly bumping right up against it without technically crossing the line.

The refund policy is there if you really need it, but it's not supposed to be a way for you to demo games. You should carefully consider your purchases and consider them to be basically final.

If it helps alleviate any concerns, know that they won't straight-up ban you from refunding or impose any penalty immediately. You'll get... Let's not call them "warnings". You'll get multiple friendly reminders not to abuse the refund policy long before you experience any consequences.

They give refunds as specified in their refund policy.
No marketing ploy. It is as it is written and described.
of course one has to read the policy to understand it.
