Contacting Steam support is pointless, they'll direct you to the game hub.

I see you have a thread in Help & Tips. That's the wrong subforum, no wonder you don't get a response. Post in the TF2 game hub.

Why did you use your friend's account?

You mean this thread that is an hour old? https://steamcommunity.com/app/440/discussions/0/5533260453836530597/

Please have patience.

In the meantime, a little search would have found you this thread with people having the same issue: https://steamcommunity.com/app/440/discussions/0/3640622610872244102/

I haven't searched further, but it's likely there are more threads.

thanks for help.
good to know other people also have this problem
Steam support is about as useful as a soup sandwich. It exists, but it is pointless trying to interact with it, you'll just get annoyed.

I'm sure that mindset has nothing to do with the game ban on your profile.

I'm sure that mindset has nothing to do with the game ban on your profile.

The game ban on my profile was based on a big wave of Squad players that got a VAC-Ban within a period of just a few days, around the year 2016. I contacted Steam on this behalf and they delegated me to VAC. Meanwhile, as you for sure know, VAC is mullti-platform ban (games like HL, TFC etc included), well, if you look closer, I play those games just fine. I filed for a reimbursement at Steam at those idiots at Squad for their error, which has been granted. The problem is, the ban stays I think visible for 10 years or some crap like that and I won't create a new account since all my other games are on here.

Either way, I am really sorry I hurt your feelings for stating the obvious about Steam Support, and you probably by now realized, exactly why Steam support is so bad in at least my experience.
oh, I forgot to mention, the Bans were False bans because of a royal Squad server F---- Up where Squad and VAC point fingers at one another, accounts were unbanned, but I could choose between keep that game with a ban in my profile, or get rid of it and get my money back for a screw up between VAC and Squad, while still keeping this ban on my profile, since for some reason Valve is not able to interfere with VAC-Bans, once a ban is automatically put on a profile.
you have a gameban and not a vacban

and the ban will stay forever
no, it got fixed. All the guys that got banned within those three days until those idiots finally came up with a fix, had their privileges back. I could play on, but chose for a refund for two reasons:
1. Incompetent company, literally name shaming people on Steam (look at reply of KittenGrindr).
2. I also got tired of these Teenagers playing Special-Forces-Commando-Comm-Team-Leaders, while the chat was spammed with Arabic speaking players at the same time, man, was terrible.

If it was "reverted" to a VAC ban, it would say 'VAC ban' on your profile, not 'game ban'.

It stays visible for 7 years. After that, it isn't visible but is still implemented.

Games bans are also done by the developer directly and are not reversed by Valve.

If I recall correctly from past tread I think someone said game bans dont get hidden regardless of time
Game bans remain visible even after 7 years unlike VAC, so there's that.

Could be, I know VAC bans do.

There's also the issue that you can't contact support about a VAC ban or game ban. They can't remove them since it's an automated system/done by the dev directly.

There were a few false VAC ban waves in the early 2010s but nothing as recent as 2016. The one before got fixed by Valve automatically once they updated the system.
