I had a lot of trouble ( you know what I am talking about) to purchase the Deck, but since minute 2 it was in my cart. After waiting 1 hour, I was able to buy it.
So I guess having it in your cart, counts as a reservation until you cancel the order.
Any other experiences?

Mine, too, just went through. Had it in my cart since 101pm and was finally able to complete the transaction at 233pm.

Same here got an email from steam stating the same thing, managed to reserve mine after an hour or so of waiting with it in cart.

Mine is still pending. I contacted steam support and I am just gonna leave it at this point and see what they have to say to me. Money has been drawn from my account an hour ago but it still says pending.

Yeah, it's really frustrating. I have kinda given up at the moment honestly.
I am probably not getting the december batch and getting the next year version :/ so that sucks.

I just hope support is fast enough that I atleast don't get in the Q2 gang. This has been such a frustrating experience. I wish Valve did better with these god aweful first come first serve and terrible servers issue every year, every time.

Had it in my cart. Had to go do life after the too many attempts error. Came back now and it's gone from my cart, Q2 2022 delivery, and "reservation servers busy", so I can't even add it. Expected a mess, and am still disappointed.

[edit] On a second refresh of my cart, it was still there. Purchase went through on the second attempt. Wonder what delivery date I'll have... [/edit]

Thats weird, i had it in my cart as well and just went through with paypal. 2 hours after launch, if its in your cart its still good

I had the issues everyone else had, but also had my cart cleared around 40 minutes after my first attempts. However, I see that two of my clicks appeared to register as "failed purchases" and I was able to re-add one of those. The description said it saves it for "72 hours" for you to try the purchase again, which I did and was successful, but I have no idea if that also saves the queue position I initially had. Probably not, but hope springs eternal.

Shame on you Steam? For what, offering a product that millions of people want? A website can only handle so much traffic at once. It doesn't matter how big it is, they're all able to be taken down with server attacks, & that's essentially the same thing that happens when everyone orders the same thing, at the same time, from the same address. You've got one don't you? Do you have a 3080 yet? Or how about a PS5?

Anyway, I got mine within 12 minutes, & I'm not really sure how, because I never got a notice that I'd succeeded, I just suddenly couldn't click the tab anymore, then noticed it was ordered. I had been spamming order, then reloading the page, then closing & opening Steam again, so who knows what actually worked, but I checked the email receipt & it had cleared at 10:12 PDT, so I did something right. Finally.

Shame on you Steam? For what, offering a product that millions of people want? A website can only handle so much traffic at once. It doesn't matter how big it is, they're all able to be taken down with server attacks, & that's essentially the same thing that happens when everyone orders the same thing, at the same time, from the same address. You've got one don't you? Do you have a 3080 yet? Or how about a PS5?

Meh. People are frustrated and lashing out. I can understand when done within reason, like this venting. The only people I take issue with in all of this are the people who already have pre-orders posted on eBay for thousands of dollars.

Meh. People are frustrated and lashing out. I can understand when done within reason, like this venting. The only people I take issue with in all of this are the people who already have pre-orders posted on eBay for thousands of dollars.

I understand too, but they're shaming Steam, but they still got the console? And in less than an hour? So that's what I don't understand, & seems a bit spoiled to me. Yeah, I think a lot of those pre-orders will fall thru once they don't deliver within 30 days, breaking Ebay policy, leading to them cancelling the orders. Especially at 6 months haha! But Steam's, One console per account policy will keep this to a minimum.
