credit card verification frustration
Hi all,

I have been asked to re verify my credit card ending in ****. I have received the micro-transactions in my account in AUSTRALIAN dollars as being 1.19 and 1.45 AUD. However the verification process requires these values be entered in US dollars and the bank is unable to verify the initial transaction value.

I have used values based on the US conversion rate (on my banks site) - but I have no idea what the rate used at STEAMs end was. I have lodged a support ticket, but cant use my account until this is sorted!!

Any thoughts, anyone else had this problem.

I had the same problem. I added funds to my wallet last night and everything was working normally.

I log on today after work, and I want to trade the extra summer card I got. I go to my inventory and neither new card is there, yet they show up in my badge progress.

So, I go to the market and see if I can access my card from there, and I run into this issue.

After successfully verifying my card the fine print said I have to wait two days for my success to go through.

By now I'm cursing like a ****** ******* *****, angry, and craving cereal.

I love the summer sale, card game, and the team mechanic, but when these bugs come up it seems like certain elements weren't thought all the way through.

Please help and I do appreciate what y'all do for us, the community.

I think you have to wait until it automatically goes away.
I reached maximum attempts by accident since I entered the amount that I used to add funds to my steam wallet before I needed to verify stuff... darn it bank people :/ (and NOW I have the real amount, but I can't use it since I used all the attempts I had :eye:3:eye:)

For those that are having trouble converting the 2 small payments from your currency to USD i'll let you know how I was able to do it.

First you have to find the amount you got charged in your currency for adding money to your steam wallet (in USD). For example lets say I added $100(USD) to my steam wallet and I check that I have been charged $115.63 (AUD) on my bank account. Simply divide $115.53 by 100 which will give you 1.1563 this will be your conversion rate.

Now check your two small charges from steam that they send for verification lets say you got $1.25 and $1.45 in your currency(AUD). simply take these and divide them by your conversion rate that you figured out earlier, in this case 1.1563.

So 1.25 divided by 1.1563 leaves us with $1.08 this will be the figure you enter in for steam and 1.45 divided by 1.1563 gives us $1.25, the second figure.

Note that using any other way of conversion such as google will not work. This method worked for me so I thought I'd share. Good Luck.
