Bots in Steam Market?
I went to go sell one of my Warband cards on the market and accidentally listed it as a few cents under the average. Really, really low.

Anyways, the card sold within a milisecond of pushing the button.

There's probably people out there using these to farm and buy low and sell high.

It's pretty smart when you think about.

If the bot is running 24/7 and there are millions of users buying and selling you're gonna make alot of money. Even if it's only .1 or .2 cents profit per card.

The Steam Market is ruled by bots ... you can't buy anything cheap because They buy first and when you are going to buy a card usually is a bot the one with the lowest price ... They have kidnaped the market and valve just don't cares .

Well, Valve makes 0.1 cents off every transaction right?

ya i really wish they'd be more proactive about shutting down and banning bot accounts on the marketplace. But.. meh! Since Valve gets a small cut of very marketplace transaction there is probably less incentive to shut down bots, even though it makes things really unfair to the average Steam user.

Yep , but They could make more money because a lot of people just don't use the market due to the bots .

They make more than .01 cent. It's only .01 cent on cheap items.. but really it's 5% i think. And devs get 10%.

Well so i need to ask how some cards sell for 0.03? it can sell for any less... so why the bots do not rise that price?
Also on any case.. i do not think its too easy to get rid of the bots.. i mean how can you really know who is who?
And please do not say these words thing... as it will become some really big pain to any one using the market all the time

I wouldnt say steam doesnt care because they make profit, 1,2,5 cents isnt really a profit, not enough to *not care* anyways. Maybe if they used a Captcha or something.

Multiply that by the thousands of trades every hour, every day, and that'll give you a better idea. Valve profits in an active and fluid market, bots help in this regard.

If bots are good for the market why Steam doesn't implement one for every user as it has been suggested so many times ?

:p2turret::boomer::sfsurprise:Well, because not everyone has the money to use a bot to purchase said cards. I am guessing the bots uses the persons steam wallet money and goes out buying really, really cheap cars. It really wouldn't make sense to give somone something they can't use. Also, if Valve is allowing this, then there would be no problem getting your own.:knight::csgoglobe::csgoct:
