Don't blame others for the crap you are doing on your machines.
That it eventually clogs your system and the ad spam for a start.
Your burden of proof.
Proabably why they've disappeared.
I used it for years personally, but I learned to do these things in a better ways instead over the years.
Some peopl, like myself are either too lazy or too inexperienced to go digging around like that.
And in that respect it's fine. It does what it's supposed to. Is it perfect? Nope, but that's never been the point. It serves to clean out the usual things that rack up and slow PCs down and keeps a moderate watch over some of the crap that can come about from malware and such.
All you save is a handful of clicks. It's pretty much the same when it comes to how hard it is.
And that still dones't cover all the things CCleaner does either.
I'm not saying it is great, but you saying it rather crap and your reasioning overlooks basic things.
If you absolutely want a cleaner. Use Razer Cortex. It's also free, no annoying ad popups and has more than enough features to be just as good as ccleaner when it come to speeding up PC.
Then you set your browser to delete automatically some stuff you dont want.
There. Even easier than ccleaner.
YouTube is loaded with videos that explain everything in details if needed. Even some crash course that last less than 10 mins. You have the documentation of Windows even for the tools it have.
The only reason to use CCleaner is lazyness as far as I am concerned. There is nothing that it does that cannot be achieved otherwise. Outside from the registry cleaner. But, you can have a registry cleaner app for less than CCleaner that is better equipped to deal with that. Can even be automated including backups.
CCleaner isn't even worth it. But, its being peddled by every "mainstream" site. So if that matters to you. Go wild.
Yes an againm, you're still overlooking the fact that with the coverage Windows has there are plenty of epople who are inexperiecned to even THAT.
I'm sorry you don't grasp it but the fact remains if there weren't such people CCleaner would still not be popular.
There are people that still exist who play games who have very limited knowledge of basic PC stuff. Your ignorance of them doesn't mean they don't exist.
Spoiler: They are not hard to use. Have been developped from the ground up for the end user and do just as good a job.
Then, there is the registry cleaner part. Which is not even recommended by experts but still it does help a bit. You can just get a dedicated software that will do it automatically and backup the changes. Ex: Auslogics Registry Cleaner. This is just an example. There is plenty others if youre hellbent on doing this.
Once setup. It's even easier to maintain than CCleaner. Like, half of what Ccleaner do is now automated and the rest can be done using the drive cleaner tool of windows.
CCleaner is just as pointless as a game booster. But, at least the game booster DO save considerably more time than CCleaner.
