What’s next for Battle.net now that Microsoft owns it and 100 other studios?
Imagine this: every fantastic game you've acquired from these studios on Steam becomes available with the simple step of linking your Steam account to Battle.net. Just like that, your entire library is seamlessly consolidated in one place. Now, envision the thrill as Microsoft unveils that all upcoming releases will be exclusively on Battle.net. Steam would no longer be part of the equation for me. It makes me giddy.

Nobody’s buying a gaming PC or Steam Deck just to play Devolver Digital titles. Most of their games are incredibly niche, and considering you didn’t mention Nightdive, I’m guessing you realized they don’t actually own any of the games they work on. This ties back to my quality versus quantity argument.
They own the publishing rights. Just like Activision owns the publishing rights to games they publish. Same with Xbox Game Studios.

The goalpost has moved so far it's kinda insane.

It’s genuinely amusing how you started firing off rapid comments once you realized Nightdive doesn’t actually own the games you were banking on. Not that it makes much of a difference, since the discussion has always been about how Battle.net stands out as more polished and doesn’t rely on shoveware dumps. You’ve also misunderstood my point about "a significant chunk"—I’m talking about high-value content. And honestly, I’ve never heard anyone treat Devolver Digital like they’re a heavyweight in the industry—it’s pretty funny.

With titles like Avowed, DOOM: Dark Ages, The Outer Worlds 2, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 making their way to Battle.net, you can really feel the momentum building. The platform’s curated lineup of top-tier games is giving gamers a solid reason to switch over—it’s got a clean, high-quality vibe that stands out.

Steam, on the other hand, feels a bit all over the place. Valve's lack of curation leaves it crowded with mediocre titles, which can make finding the good stuff a hassle. If Battle.net introduced game ownership transfers from Steam—something we’ve seen other companies pull off—it could seal the deal as the go-to gaming hub. It’s hard not to imagine players flocking to something so well-organized and focused.
Ahem my game collection is not on Battle.net yet and no microsoft doesn't own my company neither does activision. Another thing half of the studios you mentioned in the thread's description don't exist anymore. Also does Battle.net have all activision games no it doesn't.
I hope they put the games on steam. I really want to play the game "THE LOST VIKINGS" again. I know they have it in that blizzard collection pack, so i really hope they put it on steam. Last time i played it was on SNES in the 1990's.

Also, Battle net is easy to hack. Trust me on this. I have tested this myself and it is easier than to hack than the PSN.

What do you mean by hack? because you downloading and running an exe is not hacking.

No i mean by someone accessing someone's else account and basically taking all their games. That is what i mean. I have had it done to me three times, and even found out how to do it myself, but never did it, but i did it myself to see if i could do it, and im not even a hackers, so that should tell you how poor their security is on battle net. Remember how they try to use those keyfob things with codes? At least those things worked for securing the accounts. Squre enix also does same thing with the FF MMO online thing. It just that is costs money to use them..ugh.

So yea, i would not trust linking my steam account to a place with poor security that can get hacked. Also i used one account on battle net as what i call a "DUMMY ACCOUNT" by basically having one with nothing on it to test the strength of a password i made. It was basically the one that got hacked for me.

Battle.net is just as secure as Steam, though Valve's fandom is notorious for weaving some pretty wild stories.

Most likely. I do not know how, but yea, most likely. I will admit i used to download alot of mods from seedy sites back then. Now im more careful when doing anything with mods, including running scan and checking on virustotal site.

Im not sure. I would have to check. I just searched for it by itself. Is it in a game collection or something? I could not find it.

That sucks since GOG started the preservation of old games program.

Yeah. They took Warcraft and Warcraft 2. Ironically, they were like the flagships for announcing the preservation program.
