How do you browse the store?
I feel like I'm always looking at the same stuff every time. How do you browse the store?

I feel like sorting by popularity is bs. I feel like sorting by reviews is even bigger bs. I wouldn't mind seeing more obscure titles.

Edit: To clarify, I meant 'you' specifically, dear reader. I'm browsing, but there has got to be a better way to find a game to purchase.

In general I don't browse the store itself much. I check my activity feed for stuff friends have bought and wishlisted. Also in the activity feed is stuff from a bunch of genre specific curators I follow, they're good for namedropping. I chat with friends about games. And during specific sales events (like the genre specific sales) I sometimes check what's recommended to me. And recommendation threads on the forums can provide some additional titles as well.

I don't search for games, I run into them.

I browse by doing a general search under store, discovery queue. I first click the magnifying glass next to the empty search box. That brings up the list. Then I change search by relevant to search by lowest price. Then, I select special offers, games, achievements, and change the price slider to under $20.

Then I click the magnifying glass next to the empty search box to get those results.

I've found a lot of games like that.

Click the search box and enter the name of the game I am looking for. I then click the one in the drop-down list.

I basically knew what I am looking for before going to the Steam store. I also look at the bottom of the page of the store pages I look at. They have games/DLC's from the same game developers and games similar to the one you are lookg at.

How do I browse the store? Generally I do not, except for New & Trending/Top Sellers/Popular Upcoming Specials. I find it that searching it up on internet browser is better alternative and youtube it for actual player gameplay. But if you so insist to browse in Steam, you could, as already mentioned, use Discovery Queue or look at 'similar games'. I would also click on genre search. To find unpopular game on Steam that you would find to liking can go in very random direction and time consuming.

I'm not interested in only the top games and I mean no offense. I watch a lot of youtube and the reviewers that are most prominent, like ACG, tend to stick to the absolute hottest games. I play every genre in video games. I just feel like I'm looking at the same 50 games every time I try to look for something new to buy on steam.

You could start a topic asking the members what they are buying at that time.

I think the store page is designed to show us new games based off of our games and preferences. Change your game preferences
Customize your discovery queue.

Sometimes I use the tags -- Store-Your Store-More Tags For You-Global Tags-choose the tag-browse. The issue is you'll need to click "show more" a lot. Takes time.

I don't browse the store at all.
Usually I'd hear about a game I might like from various other sites on the internet, and search for them directly on Steam.

Discovery queue, I got 17k on my wishlist thanks to that, though I don't have high requirements.

I don't. Store is pretty much useless. I user either a Discord Bot or sites like Steamhunters and go through the games and if I see something interesting I open a tab.

I'll be blunt... Since the last (few?) store updates I simply don't anymore.

It's not like there is good games to be had in the past years either.

My libraries and wishlists on the various platforms I use beg to differ.

I rarely browse the store itself. It is usually what I notice my friends have played or bought that catches my attention.
