I don't search for games, I run into them.
Then I click the magnifying glass next to the empty search box to get those results.
I've found a lot of games like that.
I basically knew what I am looking for before going to the Steam store. I also look at the bottom of the page of the store pages I look at. They have games/DLC's from the same game developers and games similar to the one you are lookg at.
I'm not interested in only the top games and I mean no offense. I watch a lot of youtube and the reviewers that are most prominent, like ACG, tend to stick to the absolute hottest games. I play every genre in video games. I just feel like I'm looking at the same 50 games every time I try to look for something new to buy on steam.

Usually I'd hear about a game I might like from various other sites on the internet, and search for them directly on Steam.
It's not like there is good games to be had in the past years either.
