3rd Party launchers like EA need to be removed
It's ridiculous and pointless to have to log in an account just so they can collect my data too. I shouldn't have to install third party malware(which all because its made by EA its not called that) to play a game i purchased on Steam

Steam is the 3rd party. Not the Publishers.

It's a policy thing. I don't believe Steam gets a say in it. EA is a separate company from Steam and therefor has it's own agenda/polities to abide by. If you want to make a suggestion, bring it up with EA, not Steam support. And for God sake, stop bringing it to the attention of us, the users of Steam. We don't have any authority to say either way so why bother asking? Also, if you do bring this up with EA, don't expect much. EA doesn't listen to anyone, ever. If they did, they wouldn't have the problems they have with their users.
Why do you have to create an account and install their launcher? Because it validates you have licence to play their game/s on Steam. Secondly Steam is the third party launcher for those games. First party launchers are EA Play app, Ubisoft Connect etc.

Then don't use them, the rest of us will continue to do so, you simply are not the target audience.

If you don't want 2 launchers, don't buy third party games on Steam.
I'm imagining someone trying to convince Target or Best Buy to ban "third party launchers".

BF6 doesn't use the EA app.

That ship has sailed some time ago, the time to protest it was when the were introduced a few years ago.

While I don't like it myself and seeing as I actually own EA games that I have to use their App as well I have to say this ...

If it were you wouldn't you be trying to earn money, too? The whole point of their storefront is the exact same as Steam. Offer you games in exchange for money.

It's all about the money. Don't fool yourself into believing anything else.

Or don't buy games from EA, Ubisoft, Rockstar, 2K, CDPR, Blizzard or any other developer or publisher that have their own launcher.

I stopped playing gta 5 because Rockstar added theirs. What a waste of a good game.
I don`t buy EA and Ubisoft games for this exact reason, their launchers SUCK ASS.
This is why i do not like Discord. It is a third party launcher also. People argue it is just a chat app, but nope. IT also plays games too. Look up on google Discord activities. It lets you play multiplayer style mobile games together. HENCE, it is a third party launcher.

NOTE: Although known more for it's social side. BE aware that GOG also has a social forum pages too. That is not a excuse. and yes...discord collects all your info. Read their privacy page.

By this logic, YouTube is a game store.

To be fair battle.net was its own thing long before steam existed, and Blizzard funneling people over to the Blizzard servers and battle.net platform so everybody who plays their games is unified in one play space makes sense.

What doesn't make sense is companies that develop launchers that do nothing but start the game.

Launchers that let you pick options such as the larian launcher make sense to me since it is asking if you want to play using direct x 11 or Vulcan.
