BF6 doesn't use the EA app.
While I don't like it myself and seeing as I actually own EA games that I have to use their App as well I have to say this ...
If it were you wouldn't you be trying to earn money, too? The whole point of their storefront is the exact same as Steam. Offer you games in exchange for money.
It's all about the money. Don't fool yourself into believing anything else.
NOTE: Although known more for it's social side. BE aware that GOG also has a social forum pages too. That is not a excuse. and yes...discord collects all your info. Read their privacy page.
By this logic, YouTube is a game store.
To be fair battle.net was its own thing long before steam existed, and Blizzard funneling people over to the Blizzard servers and battle.net platform so everybody who plays their games is unified in one play space makes sense.
What doesn't make sense is companies that develop launchers that do nothing but start the game.
Launchers that let you pick options such as the larian launcher make sense to me since it is asking if you want to play using direct x 11 or Vulcan.
