scheduled delivery gifts, unfriended
I have a friend i want to buy a game for and schedule the delivery for christmas morning, we aren't friends on steam but if we need to, we can temporarily friend each other. due to using a shared account, they cannot keep me as a friend. if i had them friend me temporarily and purchase a game and schedule the delivery for christmas, will they still receive the game even after we're unfriended?

your friend should not be sharing an account, that is a violation of the SSA and can result in the account being locked/terminated. your friend should have their own steam account.

who ever is the account owner is the owner of all the items and games on the account

why doesnt your friend have their own account?

So your friend is not allowed to have you as a friend but it's perfectly fine for them to get a game on that account?

They should just get their own account. It's free. They can then family share the games from the other account.

none of you are really answering my question, focusing on the wrong part. i didn't post here to be lectured on behalf of my friend's strict parents.

instead of both of you being banned, he should actually do something productive and get a job and earn his own money. Heck, if he can't do that and too lazy or disabled (well if disabled this would be more appropriate)...he can pretend to be homeless and have a sign "just need beer", stand on a popular street corner and earn 1000s (sometimes 10,000+ a day) from people.

It works better in california though and a few other major US cities (new york however not so good for this), dunno where you live.

Is it wrong? Yes. Though not illegal in california (maybe other states, but hey if its not illegal its good to go imo). But at least you won't get yourselves both banned for breaking steam rules. Thats a vastly better method than commiting a steam crime

Not quite. If the parents are so strict, are you sure you won't get them into trouble by sending them a gift like this in the first place?

Also gifting activities like that are suspicious for the farud detection system and might get *your* account into trouble.
Maybe you can just send or give or your friend a Steam gift card in person. Or mail it to be send to his/her house at a specific time. This way you can avoid the issue of having your friend on Steam and your friend can decide which game he/she would like to buy in the sale that will be going on at that time.

The issue at hand is whether a scheduled gift will still go through if the recipient is no longer a friend. Answer is yes.

And you dug out a Thread from 2020 without adding anything relevant to it.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
