If there is weird activity on my profile contact Steam, that my account has been hijacked.

How exactly are total strangers supposed to recognize 'weird activity' on your account? If something goes wrong contact Steam Support yourself.

:spazdunno::rufusjoking: Would starting a thread like this where one typically doesn’t post, itself, constitute such?

Lol, I couldn't help but notice you ignored the more important part of my post...

O, sorry! I don’t mean to undercut such prudent advice; I trimmed it off as I had no comment thereüpon.

I don’t even have a reason that could gainsay you on that. :stein:

Clicking on a link is harmless. Actually trying to log on... that's the problem.

Even so, this is your own party and no one in the community can do anything here (other than maybe reporting you, but I see no reason why....).

Not true. Clicking on certain links can cause a virus without even trying to download something, Some websites can have scripts running in the background that infects a machine. Most of the Valve scams aren't as sophisticated as that though. Are you safe without entering details? probably but not always.

Read this. Check your account and make sure there are no API keys on it that you didn't put there yourself. If you don't know what an API key is, then you should not have any API keys on your account. If there are any keys when you check, then remove them.

Drive-by infections exist, but in practice easily mitigated by keeping your browser up-to-date. And since that's on by default in every worthwhile browser, drive-by infections don't matter in practice.

And what is that virus going to attack? At best the current browser, and... problem: there are dozens of browsers out there.

It's a non-issue, at best they can attack a browsers javascript engine but... then what? All modern OS's don't provide admin access to the users, it's not as if your browser can "just" infect system files, nonsense.

Computers can't get affected from merely visiting a website, at most your browser can run into issues. Simple solution: restart.
