There are no predators or prey here m8. There are just people spending money on the things THEY deem worthy of THEIR money. You're allowed to disagree with them, but the moment you start presenting such people and their decisions in a lesser light...that's the line.
And it's just as likely to advertise this feature to those who would buy into it.
Hmmm. Mot gamers just focus on "the Game" and really don't care about the devs the publishers etc. I mean EA is considered the worst and has been for like a decade now...and yet, they still raking in the massive profits.
This can also occur by simply giving access to everyone at the same time.
The early adopters are the ones who want the game anyway. Why not charge them a bit more for some extra days and some goodies?
From a business POV it's most certainly not an illogical one.
And as said, if it hurts the companies, they'll stop with it. But seeing how advanced access is just a tier upgrade of regular pre-orders, one should absolutely not be surprised that it gets both supplied and demanded. Long live the free market, eh.
The game of each side trying to get as much from the other for as little as possible,
It's why I say the minyute you consider a game a "MUST HAVE" you've lost.
There's always been a market for being the first, for the premium access.
And of all the monetisation schemes out there, letting a few players have a pre-release tour is one of the more tame ones.
Steam reviews are beyond simply garbage. They're distilled and refined garbage.
Let these idiots pay for beta testing, while I get a tested and patched game when it's at 75% discount.
I did.
