Metro Exodus PC. (unexpected) Screen Freeze
So I also was (half way thru the game)and then getting unexpected screen freeze on Metro Exodus.
I SOLVED IT...Go to the Nvidia control panel and cap the frame rate to 55..then go to the Nvidia web-site and download latest drivers. After I did this I could run the game at full specs with no freeze.

Every game requires the latest Nvidia / AMD Drivers installed to avoid bugs ingame

BS, I played Exodus with 2019 drivers (AMD).
What you have is a PC that is not setup for gaming and your patch fix is going to give you low performance in game.

Although, yes you should be asking in that game's hub here, I do have one extra question.

Which version of the game are you using?

Are you trying to play the regular version or the enhanced version? Because if this is the enahcned version you're likely trying to play a agem just not suitable for your computer. That's why reducing your graphics settings can get it to operate. If this is the case, then you're better off downloaing the regular version.
