Can groups submit mass reports?
I got a dm of dude telling me if I knew there was a impersonator of me and that I got mass reported in a group against cheaters. I found this extremly sus since it looked like a really random invite only group, I decided to message the admin to try to appeal and see what happens. For some reason all of his messages where wierdly highlighted and he came only almosty a second after I messaged him. His Messages also seemed extremly weird and polite instead of just talking like a normal person. At some point he send, me .gif of a steam site which said something like "Mass report for user: mifidy, number of Reports: 73" or something like that it looked pretty legit, but for some reason he didnt just send me a screenshot. He send me a gif highlighting some of the text with his cursor. I found that extremly sus because normal people would just send a screenshot. When I called him out he said it was his "settings" as an admin. And said if I suspected him I should just leave, and I did.

It's a scam.

No, mass reports do nothing. It's a common scam attempt, if it was a thing every major youtuber and CS Go player would be perma banned from trolls.

The next step would be asking you for account info or trading your items to "validate" them to try to scam you

"I got a <dm/discord message/etc> saying <something vaguely scary and/or threatening>" is always a scam.

Groups can most certainly mass report, but the effect would be very counter productive because... quality over quantity.

If I were to report you for something while we never had any real interaction then support would see right through my attempts and ignore it. Then if a group were to do this then it's safe to assume that the reports will get plain out ignored after the first 10 - 20 because why waste time & effort over something obviously fake?

In fact... if anyone would get into trouble here it wouldn't be the person who got reported for nothing, but rather the people who made the false reports. While I assume it usually gets ignored one could argue that this is also a form of harassment; which is in violation of the TOS.

Completely false, if it was remotely true every top player would be banned.

He's a known troll who cycles through accounts every time one gets community banned, it's best to ignore him. https://i.imgur.com/lbxuQ9t.png

Yep, I know, just pointing out his claims like many others are false and don't hold up to the slightest logical check

Well then stop shooting yourself in the foot. Mass reports do nothing regardless of how much you claim. If they did do anything any professional player or streamer would be banned 24/7 from people trolling them.

Basic logic.
