And the solution was also very straightforward: stop using two digit years.
For some systems, that meant using the four digit year. For others, the number of seconds or days after a specific epoch (the most well known of these being the Unix Epoch, January 1st 1970), for some, it just meant changing the definition from "the last two digits of the year" to "the year minus 1900" and making sure the system would still work when that difference exceeded two digits.
There's a similar problem a few years from now called the Y2K38 problem, where the number of seconds since January 1st 1970 will reach 2^31. Steam's current solution to that is (in some APIs) to raise the limit to 2^32, which gives them until 2106 to come up with a better system. Other parts of Steam are using 2^63 or 2^64 as the limit, which gives until december 292277026596 to figure out a new plan.
Y2K38 is going to be much less of a well known problem than Y2K was because the tech world has already gone through one of these and basically knows what to do.
However, there's nothing mathematically notable about the date March 9th, 2025. At least nothing that a computer would get confused by. That day is 1741500000 seconds after January 1st 1970, which is a big number, but it's not a very notable one for computers. It expands to the bits (binary digits) 0110 0111 1100 1101 0010 1110 0110 0000, which aren't close to rolling over.
Luckily our resident cosmonaut is giving us a day count so we can use the very database we're communicating with to show him he's an idiot on the exact day of his "prophecy".
~139 days remaining...
sure bro.... But first problems started showing and it will get worse = Physics = ~139 days
Given that none of what you've said on the matter is even remotely true, what do you plan to say when your tinfoil hat countdown ends and nothing you pulled out of your ass has come to fruition?
You haven't demonstrated that.
Again that's not at all how predictions work and you haven't the first clue about physics.
To do a prediction you MUST first study something, making detailed notes on how it works, what it does etc. Then you play with altering a variable say, or introducing something, and then study and make notes on how it differs.
Then from this you can make prediction to say what you think will happen if another thing is altered. Then you publish all these results in detail for us to look at and check over.
You have just gone "i think this, and I assert the word physics just because".
That isn't how anything works at all.
Where's you breakdown and detailed study that we can check?
yes i have. I said nearly EVERY device is affected in the end. Nobody escapes...remember that?
I don't think you're reading what we say to you and if you are you don't know what the majority of the words mean.
Valve is not known for competence, speed, or anything like that.
The new mobile app was so bad I uninstalled it and went back to email.
An update or 2 ago they screwed up something and now all the store game videos play in German instead of English.....smh
i said it has to do with physics months ago...not "suddenly" or "Just because" or because im bored. lol!
Whether it´s Windows 11 issues now (lol) or Google maps stopping working...or Apples current problems or Switch issues. It´s all physics. and all the same (more or less) process going on. In the end even Nasa, amazon an Google systems will be affected. I told you. I forecasted this. "end of databancs"
And i also told you: only ~1 percent of humans will be able to understand what´s going on, when the final days of "phase five" will begin. Most people will never understand what´s going on.
In the end of phase five (end of 2025), even ATMs will be affected i fear (i allready made guesses as to what will happen with them but nobody can say for sure) and Solar plants as well. basically every product will be affected which has to be updated very often.
the price we pay for dumbness ~20 years ago will be big. Isn´t it ironic?
Like i said: I feel like Einstein now. Like in movie "Idiocracy". Dumbness is everywhere now. And in the end everybody has to pay the price for that. We (or shall i more like say: "you") will soon be back to ~56k modem days. And there´s nothing you can do now to stop it. But i heard lately Inel has allready acknowledged the problem coming in the near future. But there is no solution. And more and more people start to notice "weird things" going on with their machines.
And this is what i meant with the "bible" and why i mentioned it earlier. It seems bible predicted something like this.
Which is kind of funny, since i don´t believe in god. I don´t believe in religion. The last time i was in church was in ~1990s. lol. But i remember what some things said in bible.
crazy times we live in...Hope you enjoy your time.
Btw: even my own big ISP once warned me of the end of my internet. they said something like "Use it while you can, because nobody can guarantee how long it will work. And it won´t work forever." (i had a personal discussion how internet worked in ~2010 in my house because of a weird cable problem).
Its not much time left until we enter phase five of issues now. So fasten your seat belts now.
Watch the show! the coming events will be interesting.
