Ah, yes the classic "I have many issues so everyone else must have them too".
Never had any problems with any Windows deleting any files after an update. I have had Windows 10 installed since back in 2015/16 and I have games going back to 2013/14 installed still and I can start and play those games with no problems.
Buggy games at launch have always happened but that isn't Steams fault, they didn't create the games. Have I had problems with new games yes, I've had some but I have yet to have a game breaking bug in all my time playing online.
I do take care of my PC and cherry pick the parts for it while also maintaining it regularly and so far it seems to work because I have minimal issues unlike some folks who constantly have problems but only look to blame everyone else, like blaming Steam for updates when it is the games developers/publishers which are pushing out the updates.
The best thing to ever happen in gaming was when Steam started keeping games up to date, before was such a nightmare.
Capcom updated the Resident Evil 2 remake, a single player game, to use DX12 years after release. But rather than making it optional they updated the minimum specs and provided no means of switching back to the DX11 version. Enough pissed off people complained forcing them to backtrack and make it switchable, while attempting to save face by saying there would be no technical support for the DX11 version.
Okay, that could be annoying, I get that.
But the OP is acting way too much Over the top.
Like, he should win an Emmy for his acting. :P
Also, Channel 701 apparently doesn't know how to update things properly.
Keep in mind that the EULAs (even Steam's) generally state that operating system requirements can change without warning in future, so Capcom saying they won't support the DX11 build isn't anything to do with "saving face".
Again, it all boils down to the fact that people don't read what they're buying.
That's a very good point!
Then again, it's fun to hate Capcom because of their really dumb decisions.
When I was a kid we had this saying about things that didn't sound quite right. It was something stinks in Denmark.
When you know the rules about how updates work it is wiser to see if someone has figured out a workaround for it. Fallout 4 is a perfect example. If there isn't then you are stuck with what you bought under the purchasing guidelines set out by Steam.
Calling US cowards because YOU don't want to follow the rules ... I'd say something stinks in Denmark and it isn't me.
I don't know if you vote Liberal but you are certainly ACTING like a Liberal right now and that doesn't speak highly of you at all. They are the lowest of the low right now.
NOTHING HAS CHANGED ABOUT YOUR GAMES AT ALL.
What game "forces" you to update it, if I may ask?
I don’t say this to mock you or be rude I’m just literally telling you what would happen if you actually did this.
Updating has been a thing for a very long time with pc games.
It’s perfectly natural and normal it’s not a violation of any kind nor does it take away any right from whoever it is that’s using said game.
These updates tend to fix issues that otherwise would still serve as problematic.
Meanwhile being sued for £656 million
Well to this day I STILL have a question regarding updates.
Not about steam or anything more about windows update that bricked both my mouse and keyboard.
I looked for information years ago to no avail and was never able to actually get it fixed.
So it’s essentially a door stop sitting in my room now.
How can a windows update do something like…that?
I kept putting off the update the night when I was to update it because that’s what I normally did and then I would manually update it.
Normally when I click ignore it waits a bit but this time it turned the pc off automatically updating it.
When I turned the pc back on the access to both the mouse and keyboard were locked completely bricked.
To this day it remains a mystery to me.
When did this post become “political” exactly?
The OP posted something about steam updates nowhere in ANY of his post was anything regarding his personal political beliefs or views.
