I can't begin to tell you of how many times I'd write a walkthrough or review, rewrite it, trim it a bit and then look closely at it and realise "oh ♥♥♥♥ - I've started several sentences with the same word" or something like that. Or used a cliche because I was being clumsy and it doesn't really work.
Normally when I'd start noticing that I'd put it down and come back to it later with a clearer head or I'd start getting too over-zelous in editing too and spoil it.
Luckily by the time I sent my stuff off to my actual editor they'd normally tweak a couple of things and that was it. So I must have done something right./
AI has been in gaming for decades. anytime you're up against a pc opponent, you're up against an ai. And the curious case is. devpubs generally have to dumb down their AI's quite a bit.
If you're talking LLM's yeah no. Simply because the amount of effort it takes to get something meaningful and noteworthy...is greater than just getting an actual writer.
Best thing I can liken it to is.. remember when procedural, random environments were suopposed to be revolutionary. WHow'd that work out. All we really got were a bunch of samey maps that really had no actual flavour to them.
Its such a fast moving *thing* that we'll see AI much more in the creative process for good and ill over the next decade.
Interesting to hear about the data set sizes, thank you!
I'd prefer it not be in my games or mods BUT if it is considered helping a game then I'd consider playing it.
