Can you play steamVR games with the Oculus Quest 64gb?

so i was thinking of getting a oculus quest since its very cheap aswell but my question is can i play every vr game with this headset even the ones on steam?

Yes. when playing PC VR/SteamVR games it doesn't use any space on the Quest anyways. SteamVR/PC VR games are installed on and ran from your PC, and then you use Oculus Link, Airlink, or Virtual Desktop(Oculus Quest store version) to connect your headset to your PC.

The space on the Quest is to run native Quest games/applications.

No. Oculus has discontinued the Rift S and they have not been supporting it very well. Quest 2 is their flagship headset and is the headset they are continually supporting and updating.

Quest 2 has higher resolution than the Rift S
Quest 2 has higher refresh rate 90hz through Airlink and Oculus Link, or you can use 120 Hz if you use Virtual Desktop. (120hz to come to Airlink/Oculus link at a later time) vs Rift S 80hz.
Quest 2 allows you to play PCVR with no wires if using Airlink or Virtual Desktop, Rift S you have to be wired to your PC.

The Quest 2 is over all better device than the Rift S, plus its supported where as the Rift S is no longer being supported for updates.

Then of course the Quest 2 allows you to play stand alone games where you don't even need a PC to play them, so you can play it anywhere at any time.

but i heard that the connection for oculus quest 2 via virtual desktop can be bad is that true? and also im not getting oculus quest 2 im getting oculus quest 1 so is there gonna be a diffrence? im gonna get the oculus 1 cuz its 200 euros but 2 is 500

I've owned 2x Quest 2's and sold them both times because I was dissatisfied with them. I've owned a couple of Rift S's and the experience wired is waaaaay better than Quest 2 + Link Cable. The problem is the fact that it's streaming video to the headset, in games like Skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR (those two especially are very demanding on your system) it can result in some heavy compression artefacts which looks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird and is very difficult to get over if you want to exclusively play those games.

It may improve with a super fast internet connection, however mine was getting high mpbs with very low latency in everything else...

Q2 is supposedly higher res, but you may not notice it that much, infact the entire home area is usually fairly blurry.

While streaming fast paced games like Beat Saber or Synth Riders from your PC the games can hitch and cause you to miss.

If you just want a wireless headset for the sake of it being wireless and using mainly the Oculus store then that's fine. If you're primarily looking to use Steam via your PC I'd think twice about it, it's not always as amazing as some people would have you believe, especially if you have prior experience with VR.

As someone who's owned Lenovo Explorer, Samsung Odyssey, Odyssey+, Rift S, Quest 2, Vive Pro, Pimax Artisan. Rift S is my favorite cheap, middle of the road, headset. It's by no means perfect, but it ain't a bad headset at all, and you can mod the thing to use a Vive Deluxe Audio Strap if you have a 3D printer and some velcro, just like you can with the Q2...

thing is rift s is 500 euro but oculus q is 200
