Belgium - Item no longer available on wishlist due to German law
Can someone clarify why games impacted by the German law in regards to age rating, have impact on games no longer being available in Belgium? Or tell me how i can report this to support?

Several games have gone missing from my wishlist due to this.

Kind Regards,

Basically, any game where the developer has not updated the store page was delisted because of the new germany regulation. They also have been removing alot of games that have nazi stuff in it, but that has being going on for years. As for the games, the list is probably over 1000 games. I am unsure the exact name of each game as that will take a long time, but im sure many games were effected by this. Many of the indie games for example i had on my wishlist were removed.

they just applied the delisting globally?, because that sounds insane to do for 1 country's regulation.

I think that is what happened. Maybe it has to do with the Europe Union. Perhaps you could ask someone who lives over in that part of the world more about it.

It is also possible that steam just wanted to add the age thing to every country as it is on video games in most countries nowadays anyways, and just did it to stay up with current laws.

Nah, it's just a Germany thing, not an EU-wide thing. Germany has always been much more restrictive about games compared to other countries. Not sure why it's showing up like that for the OP. It'd be nice to hear from other Belgian users to see if they're also having this problem but I'm not sure if there are many using the forums

Well steam has a survey, and people are saying it is not country specific, and now has questions about age rating FOR EVERY COUNTRY. So as i said, it is not just germany, it is every country now.

"The content survey has about 30-40 checkboxes, is required before a game can get a store page on Steam, and is not country-specific."

I'm not named "Steam forums and support".

The content survey asks about the content of the game, not about specific countries' regulations. Only Germany and Brazil get an age rating from it currently, but the checkboxes are general things that ratings agencies care about like "is this game pornographic" and "is there tobacco used in the game".

There's also a text-based section where the developer can write notes about the game's content for potential players.

Do you happen to have a copy of the exact questions they ask on one of these surveys? I would love to see one and what questions they ask.

I do, but I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to directly share. Here's the official documentation, which is public: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/gettingstarted/contentsurvey

out of curiosity: i can still van buy Sex with Hitler can be bought :steamhappy:

Is there a number somewhere, like when you hover over the link that brings you to the main store page?
Xamurai Nov 27, 2024 @ 7:43pm
nope just a grey box and a text not available. the links go to the main store page. I can only remove it from the list.
