I got that game for free, TWICE from Valve's competitors. Steam sucks now.
Remember, Epic is funneling their giant Fortnite cash into their money-losing store, in an effort to bribe people to use it. Steam is never going to hand out 'free' games like Epic does.
I don't care where I get my games from, the moment I click on the game icon the game starts. I have no loyalty to any idiotic company. I'm only loyal to myself and if I can get something for free or less money that's where I go. This blind loyalty to Valve is ridiculous. Valve does not care about you.
I never thought that *any* company "cared" about me. They care about operating at a profit, and hopefully doing their job.
Personally, I don't have any "loyalty" to Valve beyond the fact that I have a library of games there, and therefore use it to access them. What I *don't* have is a desire to keep creating Yet More Accounts on Yet More Services and give Yet More Companies my payment info. So Epic trying to bribe me with free games (the vast majority of which I have no interest in) isn't enough of a reason for me to sign up for their service.

Yep, so bad.
....and games on Epic aren't free Epic is paying for them to be there.
