Best thing to do is to ask people if they want it, friend the one your giving it too, and, then send it via a private message.
seriously? i've seen people post it openly like this before so i didn't even think to send it privately. thanks, i'll just keep it for the person that wants it next time 😩
There are bad actors who have bots set up to scan the forums for things to try and get someones password or to jack game codes.
Not to mention the fact that a quick and simple look at the first page of this very forum shows a very popular thread that was made for the express purpose of giving away codes in a proper and safe manner.
Another equation you could use is like 1+4 = missing number. A simple equation to show it is 5.
There is a button next to each posts. Clcik on the one that answered you and click on " mark as answered". This will tell people you already got a answer in this post and prevent possible future posts. I always do this on my posts that i plan not visiting anymore. It also tells people posting not to post there anymore.
but can they still comment if they want? i think i'll just delete the post altogether since it's pointless now anyway. thanks for the info tho. i'm never really active on steam unless it's just to play smth so all this really isn't "common knowledge" to me /:
