So In My opinion Steam Is better than Epic Games But no hate from me I Just hate its account system so one day i made an epic games account to play fortnite then after sometime i left and epic games deleted my account for inactivity but that never happened in steam for me i left my account for a while in steam like 1-2 years and it still didnt get deleted so in my personality you should spend extra bucks to keep it forever like whats the point of buying a game and get your account deleted for inactivity in epic games and epic games launcher is laggy for low end pcs so you should definetely choose steam
Thar being said, deleting inactive accounts is not a unique concept, and Epic is not alone in that. However there is a difference between your EGS account, and an account created to play a game. I don't know the EGS TOS specifically, but it's highly unlikely that it will delete an account due to inactivity, especially if there are games on the account.
There are Services which delete Accounts if no money was spend on them..... or people dont read Emails to prevent that ahead of time (as most give a notice at least a month in advance if the account might get deleted for whatever reason)
I haven't use my Epic account for YEARS so I tried loging in to it and it worked just fine...
There's things you are not telling us which Is the real reason to why Epic cancelled you account:..
I'd download the free games on EGS here and there. But on the rare occasion there was something I actually wanted to play. It wouldn't work that well anyway. Like Cave Story+, it wouldn't recognise my controller. I'm mostly a keyboard and mouse kind of guy, but metroidvanias feel so much better on controller. Then Steam came out with their steam familes, which is like family sharing except easier and better. So I have access to like 4x the games suddenly. So now I can play games like Cave Story+ without paying for them, but on the platform with more features and better support.
It really depends on the situation I suppose, I'll use death standing, which it had got a lot of hype, seemed popular, got it for free last Christmas and played it a few hours, only to realize all you do is walk slowly, it was a bit underwhelming and really shows the level of advertising manipulation we all face as consumers.
While steam is great for certain things, epic for others, having the option for both is best.
But I do agree with you seem silly what Epic does.
Doesn't hurt to use it, but I hope you learn how to improve on your grammar on your own way so wouldn't have to rely on it in the future. Anyway, don't let anyone get to you if someone trying to be grammar police, as long can make clear communication with others the better for you & others can have discussions, as well solving problems.
As for steam vs Epic. I don't trust epic... They did so much wrong that I tend to stay away from them. I would never install their launcher either. It's like installing the enemy in your PC. Or like knowingly installing a virus. I exaggerate, of course. But I truly do not like epic and everything I see about them makes me want to stay away further...
Having already lost games when Impulse shut down back in the day, the idea of buying games from an online store that is continually losing lots of money just seems a really bad idea.
Whereas with lots of products even if the vendor disappeared the next day it probably wouldn't be an issue (assuming the item isn't faulty and needs returning), with certain types of digital products the vendors longevity is fairly important - even if a way to keep access to the games after the vendor disappears is possible, that then becomes a manual process of keeping the offline installers safe, no new patches will usually be available even if they are on other platforms that still exist, etc.
So for me Epic is a no go on that single issue already, regardless of anything else they do or don't do. Who knows when the tap gets turned off by the people that hold the purse strings there.
My wife played Fortnite Battle Royal when it first came out back in 2017, she played it for a few months and hasn't touched the game since then, also hasn't done anything on Epic Store at all during it's entire existence, she never spent money in Fortnite either. I just had her log into Fortnite and she was still able to log in and play the game. its been 7 years since that account was logged into, and its still there.
So yes, the OP isn't telling us something. its clear that Epic doesn't ever delete accounts for inactivity.
I never worry about companies that purposely lose money from what is effectively marketing money being spent towards growth of a new service or product. Epic was losing money because of them doing the coupons and doing the exclusive games, and they have stopped doing both of those. They were losing money on non normal business operations of running a store. If they were losing money for doing normal business operations of running a store that would be worrying, but since they were not but was purely due to coupons and exclusive games I don't worry about it at all.
