Game pricing will vary title to title based on the design philosophy. Personally I encourge the GalCiv model because it encourage people who should NOT be buying early access games to avoid them until completion.
Buying Early Access just because it's cheaper will only leave you disappointed. It is NOT complete game ready for general consumption usually. You will not enjoy it. So wait for it to be finished and eat the price, or wait until it's finished and goes on sale.

They are generally cheaper but I dont understand how I am paying more than market because of testing
He's basically just saying that EA games aren't finished and have less content, are more buggy, and are generally worth less than a full release.
