Steam quit shoving features I didn't ask for in my face

Do I want to see random videos from random games when I look at store pages? No I don't. When I put it on pause that's a dead giveaway. It doesn't mean wait until I scroll down the page to shove it in my face again. Can I turn this off?

Random videos from random games on store pages? Do you mean the broadcast at the top that sometimes is there? Do you have an example?

There are no adverts for other games on a store page. And the videos certainly don't continue if you are scrolling down.

Where did you see something like this happen?

You do realize you're not the only person that uses Steam and that more people asked for the feature than have cried about it being added. Not to mention you can turn it off if you stopped pointlessly ranting for 5 seconds and looked.
