Then she is a voice actress only and getting paid to do so.
The character is just that, a character and the looks of the voice actress has nothing to do with what the character looks like.
I see no problem here at all.
I've seen ugly woman with beautiful voices and I have seen beautiful woman with horrible voices. The voice has nothing to do with it.
Lets be hone here, in your case, you just don't like the character they made. It really has nothing to do with the voice actress at all. If you have that much of an issue with the character, then don't buy the game OR wait for a mod to swap her out (and save money in the process). Simple solution for a simple problem of opinion.
1) Lip reading is a thing that people can do. The formation of words isn't so unique from one individual to another.
2) You have your rigging for the character's movement and facial expressions. You can map that onto any character no matter how different they look from the person who did the recording.
3) I have played plenty of games where the characters mouths don't even move when they speak and never thought it detracted from the game. Something that is realistic but made unnatural stands out far more than something consistently unrealistic.
Yes, I find this preferable. The end result would fit the art style of the graphics better than trying to cram a somewhat real person into it.
I also have serious doubts about the "all male characters that are modeled after their male voice actors are perfect!" claim.
She was hired to do the same job as Cameron Monahgan . Then take a look at how
Cal Kastis ended up looking, then compare Humberly González with how Kay Vess looks.
Mass Effect Andromeda , and Star Wars Outlaws (to be released) .
Though inall fairness it's not a really big trend.. just in a very small space of the VG industry.
And if all the games had the same voice actor, and the same character model, what would happen? Who owns the rights at that point?
Doesn't matter if game A did this and game B did that. The point is that you are simply using the excuse of the "voice actor" to push your personal dislike of the character.
I thankfully never quite liked youtube and don't have the patience to watch streamers and youtube personalities. If you get out of that bubble of ragebaiting you notice how little all of that matters in reality. These people don't know up to which extent they're spoiling themselves their own fun for the sake of making a few youtubers a bit more rich.
The male is spot on there, really?
Here's another take on the actor vs the character, shall we?
