Using VPN to buy a Region Locked game (Full Price)
Would it be possible to buy a region locked game using vpn?
I am not buying it cheap or anything im buying it at full cost, cause the game is only available for that region and there is no worldwide version.

No, could get your steam account perma locked. It would be a violation of the steam service agreement.

No and to buy another game in that region you would need a payment method tied to it so it wouldn't be possible regardless. You aren't allowed to bypass regional restrictions on games and content.

It it is restricted, then it is restricted for a reason.

I don't suggest bypassing regional restrictions as it can lead to your account getting locked or even arrested, depending on why is it restricted.

Nope. Won't work. IP address alone does not determine store region for existing Steam accounts. You would also have to have a valid billing method and billing address for the region you were trying to spoof. Do note even when paying full price (or at a higher price than in your region), your Steam account would still be penalised for making such a purchase as you are committing payment fraud.

For that matter, if you could buy the game as a Steam key from a third party site, you will not be able to activate the key on a Steam account that doesn't match the key's region. Again, a VPN will not help you here with an existing Steam account.

I am a little curious as to which game you are trying to buy. There might be a better alternative than Steam -- such as a console release.

It's one of those baseball games that the licensing rights are only available to publish in certain regions.

Probably because of LGBTQ reasons for Arab countries.

Generally seems like its the newer games that have more eyes on it that gets affected.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
